Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
The online reservation system requires your membership to be in ACTIVE status in order to attend CSMAC or participate in our Virtual Group Exercise Classes.
Pools and On-Site Class reservations may be made two-days in advance.
Activate Your Membership

You will need your membership number to make a reservation. Your membership number can be found on the back of your key tag. If you need a replacement key tag, please contact us at smac.fitness@smccd.edu.
- Reservations for Pools & Group Classes may be made up to (2) days in advance, system unlocks at midnight.
- Appointments for the pools begin at the top of each hour, maximum 60 minutes.
- Inside Fitness Floor is open access and unlimited use. You must scan your key tag at the far computer upon entry to CSMAC.
- Personal Training and Private Pilates Sessions: Please book your appointment directly with your trainer/instructor.
Reservations
Members have access to the Outdoor Pools, Indoor Fitness Floor and On-Site and Virtual Group Classes. Pools are currently set to (two swimmers per lane). Pool access and On-Site Group Classes are available by reservation only. Members ages 15-17 are welcome to attend CSMAC with their guardian, participating in the same activity together; (for example both in the pool or both inside gym).
How to reserve a space
Availability per hour
- Fitness Floor: No Reservations, No Social Distancing Required.
- Large Pool: 40-spots; (2 swimmers per lane).
- Small Pool: 12-spots hourly; (2 swimmers/walkers per lane)
- Indoor Cycling: 25-spots each class.
- Bootcamp 15-spots each class, TBD on the day of the class
- Aqua Fitness: 45-spots each class, No Social Distancing Required.
- Group Exercise Availability varies, based on size of studio.
Cancelling your reservation
Cancellations MUST be completed in advance of your reservation. Members reservation records, showing 2-no shows, will lose reservation access.
Accessing the Club
All campus access points are open. Please arrive 5 minutes early to Pool & Group Exercise Class reservations.
Parking
Parking is available in Beethoven Lot 2 D-E. All parking permits will be honored through January 2022. We will update our membership regarding any changes.
Check-in
You will need your Key Tag to enter the club. If you have lost your Key Tag we will be able to issue a new one once the check-in line has been cleared.
Group Exercise Classes
Cycling and Group Exercise Classes are available indoors, with reservations available (2) days in advance.
Filming may take place during the classes, with live feed to virtual participants at home. Space is limited for On-Site participants, so please make a Reservation first.
Please note
- The system unlocks two days in advance of the class @ midnight.
- Aqua Classes are also returning. Please look for updates on the website.
Membership Compliance
Locker rooms are open. Changing cabanas on the pool deck and changing stalls in the family changing room are also available.
Deck showers are available only for rinsing (no soap/shampoo). Please bring your own towel and take it home with you when you leave.
Equipment
Wipe down the equipment before and after use.
COVID Conduct & Cordial Consideration
- We currently follow the SMCCD recommended guidelines, which follow the COVID community level of San Mateo County. To track the San Mateo County’ COVID Community Level, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
- Sanitize your hands upon entry and after, anytime, you touch your face.
- Use the hand sanitizer provided throughout your workout.
- Wash hands with soap and water after using the toilet or urinal.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Wipe down equipment, restroom door handles, before and after use.
- Sneeze/cough into your elbow, even when wearing a face mask.
- Do not spit in public spaced, this is not permitted.
Conduct on the Pool Deck
- Store your items off of the pool deck.

- Listen to all staff members regarding pool lane use or movement on the pool deck, and comply with their instruction.
Operations
Pool
You may experience slightly higher chlorine levels, in alignment with USA Swimming recommendations.
Member & Guest Policies
Only Members of College of San Mateo Athletic Center (SMCCD fitness and pool facilities at the College of San Mateo herein referred to as Community Fitness Members), in good financial standing with a record of Covid-19 vaccination will be able to use the facility or facilities. Single location membership or dual membership location designation-memberships must be purchased in advance and align with the membership on file for accessibility and use at either or both locations. With proper identification. Guests are also required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
- A one-day Guest Pass is available for members to purchase for their guest at a charge of $30.
- Local guests may only use the facility 1 time per month, local ID is required.
- Out of town family guests, may use the facility up to 4 times monthly, out of town ID is required.
- Guests must be accompanied by a current member, in the same area, while the using the facility.
Enforcement of Rules
The SMCCD Community Fitness staff will protect the rights and privileges of rule-abiding members. Behavior deemed inappropriate by attending staff or management will be addressed with courtesy. Members who display intentional noncompliant behavior or actions affecting the safe operations of the facility to self or others will be asked to leave the fitness, exercise, or swim area to discuss corrections. Willful disruptions, (arguing and fighting) with members, staff or public safety will result in removal from the facility, suspension and/or cancellation of the membership.
Towel Service
Small towel service is available. Please bring your own shower towel, and note that towels left behind will be discarded.
Lockers/Locker Rooms:
Locker rooms are open. In addition to the locker rooms, small lockers will be available in ‘common’ areas: the main fitness floor and the alcove in the hallway to the stairs.
You will need to bring your own lock and remove items after your visit. You may rent a locker for monthly use – please speak to the front desk about availability.
College of San Mateo Athletic Center is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items. Please be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity.
Membership Dues
An active membership will be required to use facilities or participate in live or virtual programming at College of San Mateo Athletic Center

Additional Cleaning and Sanitization Measures
- CSMAC cleaning includes using electrostatic sprayers.
- Additional Hand sanitizer and equipment wipes are available throughout the club.
- Members are responsible for wiping down equipment before and after use.
